first of all, great to see you back examples.

second of all, i'd probebly go with the aa11 just because it sounds newer acourding to the document I read on it. of coarse I could be all wrong... (its happend before)

AIM-9X, high off bore sight shots, great proven close range missile and its not Russian...........not to say that don't have some good technology, it just tends to be weird in some ways..............

I'm referring to them in general, there technology tends to be FUBAR in many ways.

Anyway, the AA-11 is a fairly new missile, it has range on the sidewinder and apparently claims high off bore sight ability as well, so it is more in the AIM-132 category of ASRAAM's.

I'd give the AIM-9X some credit and rate it as equal to the R-73A/E. It has a better seeker and better off-boresight capability but inferior rocketry and control surfaces with which to take advantage of this ( the missile is too small, it is at the end of its development life). The AIM-9X is NOT the equal of the R-73M (M2 especially), however. This refined model has a significantly improved seeker and improved motor/fuel, increasing its range and off-boresight capability. Apparently, the sidewinder has 10 mile range compared to the archer's 4.
