I dunno about that... I heard the early models F-102 to 104 were a heckuva time to fly... Same goes for the AV-8A Harrior JumpJet.

I really dont know where you got that from the harrier is lovely to fly a little bumby at times and a little difficult. But its an effective tool. You name me another vertical takeoff aircraft thats in service thats as capable. The yak 38 doesnt count as capable. Its not very fast (subsonic) but its a very capable dogfighter because of the nozzles its extremely effective and agile. The term put on the brakes is used very often within the harrier community

it was on some program on the History Channel. I was just referencing the AV 8A because it was pleagued by crashes when it was first ordered, the AV 8B is alot better though.

the AV-8A was the original Harrior. Many pilots died in crashes from instrament failiar, the nossles freezing, and a basic design flaw in the wings. they were too short. The AV-8B fixed alot of those problems but it still has a few problems. not as vitle as a system failiar though.

I always heard of it as the AV-8A, but you are british and in the RAF sooooo I shouldn't be talking.
