Message Number 1Date Posted: 08 May 2007, 8:33:15 AM I think the F-15 Eagle is the best of all time. I mean during Operation Desert Storm it had 101 kills and no losses. If that isn't good then I don't know what good is.

Message Number 3Last Updated: 05 July 2008, 4:00:53 PM Date Posted: 05 July 2008, 3:50:17 PM yall are crazy. its the f-16 hands down. what do you think defends most of american airspace? last time i checked it was the F-16! so while the big complex f-15s are over there in iraq, the small, lightweaght, simple f-16 is defending America. to close my arguement i would like to take a quote from globalaircraft.org on the subject of the f-16:
"In an air combat role, the F-16's maneuverability and combat radius (distance it can fly to enter air combat, stay, fight and return) exceed that of all potential threat fighter aircraft. It can locate targets in all weather conditions and detect low flying aircraft in radar ground clutter. In an air-to-surface role, the F-16 can fly more than 500 miles (860 kilometers), deliver its weapons with superior accuracy, defend itself against enemy aircraft, and return to its starting point. An all-weather capability allows it to accurately deliver ordnance during non-visual bombing conditions."
There you have it, CASE CLOSED

Message Number 5Date Posted: 23 July 2008, 9:19:23 PM You obviously, have #1 listened to nothing I have said to you and #2 don't know anything about air combat or the air force.
Here you want specs? Lets see how your beloved F-16 stands up against the F-15 and the F-22. ------------------------------------------------------- F-15C Eagle Max Speed: Mach 2.5 (1650mph) Range:3,656+ miles Service Ceiling: 60,000ft Absolute Ceiling: 100,000ft Armament: 1x 20mm M61A1 Vulcan Cannon; 4x Aim-9 Sidewinder; 4x Aim-120 AMRAAM G limits: -3 to +9 Climb: 50,000+ft per minute --------------------------------------------------------- F-16C Fighting Falcon Max Speed: Mach 2 (1320mph) Range: 2,418 miles Service Ceiling:50,000ft Armament: 1x 20mm M61A1 Cannon; 6x AAMs G Limits: +9 Climb: 50,000+ft per minute -------------------------------------------------------- F-22A Raptor Max Speed: Mach 1.58 in supercruise at 30,000ft (Mach 1.7 w/afterburner) Range: N/A Service Ceiling 50,000ft Armament: 1x M61A2; 4x Aim-9 Sidewinder; 4x Aim-120 AMRAAM G Limits: +7.9 Climb: N/A (plus stealth technology) -------------------------------------------------------- And these are just American aircraft.......the F-15 beats the 16 in almost every category.
For a fighter aircraft, the F-15, next to the P-51D, is the greatest fighter aircraft of all time, with 100 combat kills to zero losses, it has never been shot down by another aircraft.
