Message Number 2Date Posted: 16 March 2005, 9:19:32 PM Firstly the b-58 isn't a good bomber because its range is less than that of the b52. So what it can do supersonic speeds it can do them only for very short periods of time and it really drains the fuel lowering flight time even further. Also compared to modern bombers it can hardly carry another and has no stealth protection.
The f111 may still be a good bomber but unlike the f117 it only has very minimal stealth maybe none. The f117 can fly alot further to and is better designed for air refueling only increasing its range further.
Well the xb-70 doesn't look so bad but once again it has no stealth protection unlike the other bombers used by the USAF. I don't it would be able to sustain mach 3 for very long.
