whos with me that 2days aircraft are crap like farenough there good but would u rather a dog fight in a P-51 mustang against a focker wolf. where u saw your kill. where the bullets meet the meat. instead of a missile range of so how ever far it was dependant on how much guts the pilot had and if he had a large enough Cal to do damage the aircraft he was shooting at, dog fights 2day are boring lets go back to ww2 and see the real aviation action

hey thats not entirely true you know because the main rule of engagement for most nato countries is do not fire until you are fired upon so you cant really go for a long range kill unless you are in something like an f-14 on an intercept in which case their main duty is protection of the carrier so it dont matter

Of course it suck comparing to f-16 and mig-29 but against same year fighters, I think mig will get it down easily, with the help of that 23ml gun.

I don't know. The mig-21 was an ok aircraft. The only thing they could beat on a regular basis was the phantom. If u bring in an f-16 to dog fight with it, bye bye mig boy!

jet dogfights are awesum, one that i saw was a guns only dogfight between an f-16 and a late MiG-29, the f-16 was on his way home and he had no weapons left so he only had the gun and there was an AWACS in the air jamming the MiGs IRSTS and radar so they only had guns.
it was heaps good
it was on a video

although the f-16 carries the AMRAAM so it could defeat the fulcrum in a ranged battle which is what is mostly fought today. Dogfights are growing few and far between.

not true because rules of engagement for NATO state that u must identify your target as enemy before engaging and negative IFF codes dont cut it because top secret missions use enmy codes so the enemy dont fire on them.

that's y i think that every fighter aircraft should have the visual identification system of the f-14.
