I have been wondering if the argentines used their Mirage III aircraft during the falklands war. i know they used their IAI Daggers to a considerable extent, but not their 'real' mirages.

Yes, as escorts. In the first major strike force (36 Aircraft) Mirage III were used to escort the other aircraft.
