After watching the videos of the Su-37 demostration here on GA TV. I would say in an actuall dog fight. The su-37. but the 22 can probably shoot it down before the 37 would even know that it is there.

hey baritone89 the f-22 may be smaller and stealthier but the 37 is much more manuevrable

since it's stealthier, the su-37 will have a harder time picking it up therefore giving the first shot first kill advantege to the raptor. correct me if i'm wrong but doesn't the us have the longest range missles in the world? that would mean the raptor could take the flanker out before the flanker pilot new that the raptor was there.

Keep in mind that the SU-37 has almost a 360 deg. view around considering the advanced radar in the front and in the back as well. I think if the 22 came from the side, hypothetically, it could probably get a better shot off.

the ryazan rearwards facing radar is more powerful than the f-4s main foward looking radar so you couldnt go from behind it

I agree with nz_enthusiast. Not only it depends on the plane but on the skills of the pilot. For example the Korea War. F-80 Pilots were better trained than the Russian and Chineese Pilots in the MiG-15. Although The F-80 was inferior to the MiG, the Plane was handled by better pilots.
From 1914 since, airpower has become essential for any field of battle. To Vietnam, to Desert Storm airpower has become dominate in the battlefield. May airpower live on in times of war!

the MiG 15 and the f86 were described as the most evenly matched planes in the world

Your right, but the F-80 was inferior to the MiG-15, but it scored due to the better trained pilots of the US. The F-80 was eventually replaced by the F-86 which was better than the F-80.
