It's OK. It doesn't look as nice as the Apache though. When it was first developed, it had no RADAR which was pretty bad but now they've put 1 on so thats good

i would still have to take a remanufactured ah1z. it has upgraded engines, 4 blade rotor, new weapons suite, new electronics. and the sucker is fast. not to mention its insanely hard to see head on because the fuselage is only a few feet wide.

I heard that F-22 Raptor can be next, because situation in Iraq got pretty hot and there not enough money in Pentagon to keep both things up. They gonna make a choice.
By the way Comanche was discotinued because of new experience in Afghanistan and Iraq. Probably that's right decision. I mean in modern war against terrorism it's easy to shot down, because armor is very weak, only few kevlar plates, and stealth is unneeded. Anyway terrorists have no radars, and i doubt that they will use Javelin ground-air missiles with radar guidance. They're more experienced to shoot from Strela and Stinger passive IR-guided.
Anyway i am sorry of its fate, because it was at least beautiful chopper. It was like a symbol of 90'. Rah-66 vs Ka-50- everybody was interested who's better. So only ka-50 is staying on feet. I mean that ka-50 has been in army since 1995. Even fought in Chechnya in 2000 and showed exellent results.

The comanche is a good helicopter against everything except for planes.

The RAH-66 comanche is a great helicopter but the only reason it was discontinued was because the pilots shot things down but the AH-64 Apache and HH-60 Desert Hawk did more of the job in Iraq.
It did put a giant hole in the pentagons budget too.
The bad part is we have a new airplane(F/A-22 Raptor) and the Russians have a new airplane and a helicopter(S-37 Berkut & Ka-52 Alligator).
The helicopter hasent been added to the site yet though

Whatever will fill the RH-66 boots will probably be unmanned and alot cheaper. Recon from the back of a truck. In the rear with the gear. Keep your powder dry!
