you know what they should come out with another supersonic airliner. There's no reason why it possibly be better for people who need to get to where they need to be in a quickly fashion. It's bad enough that you have to spend about three hours in an airport just to take a 45 minute flights at times or you wait 2 hours in an air port for a 9 hour flight. When your flight could be reduced by half the time. Now of course a supersonic airliner wouldn't be used for small flights. Only cross country and international.

remember though, a supersonic airliner makes a heap of noise, thats part of the reason concorde got decommisioned because there were too many complaints

Remember also that the Concorde was much bigger than a conventional supersonic delta winged jet, just imagine a huge Mirage 2000, breaking through the sonic barrier. I don´t if it is true that once, when the Concorde was on active, they said that a pilot made the Mach 1+ while flying over a small city and sonic thunder broke glasses of buildings, cars. I´m not sure but that would be one of the complains about a supesonic comercial aircraft. Besides none of the present new comercial aircrafts, talking about the A380-800 and the very soon Boeing 787, are supersonic. By the meantime, I think comercial supersonic aircrafts are on stand by.

maintenance on a large supersonic jet costs a lot of money as well, maintenance on even a realtively cheap jet like an f-16 costs about 5 million dollars per year.
can you imagine a jet the size and cost of concorde for example?.
