I am not talking about some super spy planes, but about jet fighter like mig-29, f-16, f-15 and others. And if you comparing modernised mig-29s and f-16, f-15 mig will definitely win. Many people sayes that mig-29 was made as multirole fighter, it's wrong, first Mig-29 A was made as an interceptor, later russians added some air to ground capabilities.

i've seen an f-15 in flight against an f-16 ok and theres no doubt it is an awesome airframe but i've also seen a mig-29 in flight and i think it could kick the f-15 all over the sky

Based on the information on this site saying that the F-15 has F100-PW-100 engines, yes the MiG-29 would win. But with the engines that the USAF is putting in now, eg. F100-PW-220 and -229, The aircraft is much faster . The pilot has more control of the engines than he previously did. But I am not completely sure what is in the MiG-29. I know that the -229 engines put out about 32000 lbs of thrust a piece in augmentation.

Speed won't help f-15 in fighting against mig-29, it needs much more maneuverability. To get this, you need to redesign whole plain or just install TVC.

I guess it would help to actually put the ACTIVE in to service. it has the TVC and it also has the forward canards. If they could make an E model version it would be awesome.

Yea, that would be awesome. But I don't think it will ever happen because this fighter is to old and American aircraft designers mainly are working on the stealth fighters like f-35.

- TVC playes a big role in aircraft maneuverability.Look at the su-37 ,it is so big , but it can do the moves that no other jet fighter can.

Well the F-15 E model isn't that old actually. its only been in service since the late 80s or early 90s. Considering the service life of 15s were suppost to only be 4-7 years and its been in service alot longer than that. the e model won't be replaced any time soon. Along with the A10 it accounts for most of the ground attacks that occur against enemy troops. And you know I read on here about some one talking about if Iraq got mig-31s they could kick the USAF's &*#. For one, it's the small insurgance groups that are causing the problems not the government. So we don't have to worry about that now do we.
