I agree with trigun.
the Eagles have a Zero losses record, that shows that the Eagles kick butt. so it will be a while before the USAF fases them out even after the F-22 comes out.

this is a one sided argument as the planes that are replacing old ones are not really pushing the old ones out of the way. at least not yet, and in a period of war. i believe that all of the original planes will be brought back, as we may need all the firepower and cannon fodder we can get.
No offense to anyone.

zeetoboy's right about old planes being brought back consider the big aircraft graveyards in the desert they are kept so that in a state of an emergency the usaaf can take them if they are needed and fight. If you need proof just watch clarksons extreme machines thatll tell you the truth

The main reason no eagles have been lost is because they never been in enough danger they never been given missions that might make them lose and aircraft and thats the facts. I think most global aircraft members will agree with me here goverments dont pour enough money into air forces where its needed.

Falcon, whats wrong with you, all you do is rant about the F-16.........its not replacing the F-15 its BEING replaced by the JSF...................damn dude...........

v_bomber: Right, F-22 is replacing the 15. The USAF keeps its retired aircraft in a condition that allows for them to be reactivated if nessecary. Generally, it doesn't happen, they are mostly used for parts, but the A-10 is a key example of them bringing aircraft back.

As for your last comment, that is really not true. The Eagle was never matched by another aircraft in real combat, because its just that good. The Israeli's put the aircraft into many dangerous combat situations and it just hasn't been taken out, thats because it is more advanced and the people that fly them are much better pilots.

Fightning Falcon is starting to annoy me yes the f16 is a pretty good piece of kit but it certainly aint the best. You only really rant about something if its really really good or bad or succesful most other stuff is just another plane they use a good case for the f16. Your right about the isralies being good pilots ive seen em fly. But it has more to do with the users skill than the actuall plane (eurofighter excluded for well obvious reasons)

and i said in my last post to firstsgt_cap that he corrected my view. i new it wasn't the best aircraft. i guess i was allitle in over my head when i wrote the article sain it was the best. and i admit that i was wrong and that it aint the best. now can we just forget about this and move on? ill delete all the articles that say that the f-16 is the best.

a weapon is only as good as the one that holds it.

It is the F/A-22, however its more commenly refered to as just the F-22 because that is really all it does. It just happens to have the capability to drop JDAMs.

Whats your point?
