Hey folks, I need a bit of help. I'm studying Aeronautical Design Tech in the UK & I'm currently writing a report on aircraft flight control surfaces. I have come across a droop aileron / flaperon but what is aileron droop? I've seen it mentioned on some websites but it hasn't been explained in detail. Also, when is it used?

Cheers, Will

The rigging of ailerons so that under static conditions their trailing edges are below the wing trailing-edge line, pressure and suction causing them to rise in flight to the aerodynamically correct position.
