Message Number 3Date Posted: 22 August 2004, 6:12:18 PM The first B-1s did, there were 5 of them but the idea was useless, the 5 B-1As are rumored to be in hiding somewhere in the names of the Ghost Riders of Eureka.
But that was just some rumor I heard, well I hoped that helped ya

Message Number 5Date Posted: 09 October 2004, 3:23:05 AM for that question i have book hey in my lap *stealth warplanes* written by Doug Richardson sayin that it depends on the didtance of the aircraft from the radar site 'a radar trackin a B-1A would thus have its range ruduced by 44 percent if it detect a b-52 at a range of 100 miles or kilometers, it could only track a B-1A at 56 miles or kilometers. subsititute a b-1B (which has an RCS (radar cross section) a tenth that of the b-1A and one hundredth of that if the b-52) and the range is reduced to
(1/100)^0.25 = 0.32'
a b-1B has a RCS of about 0.75^2
^ = to the power of
hope that has helped you out but there is a radar system that can track stealth aircraft it is called the OHR (over horizon radar)

Message Number 6Date Posted: 13 October 2004, 5:01:21 PM The B-1 Lancer was never adapted for stealth missions. The closest it's ever been to becoming stealth was when the US Air Force painted them with radar absorbing paint. However, the B-1 does have a relatively small radar cross section when compared to a B-52. But you must take in to consideration that these radar cross section tests were based on high speed penatration missions with radars pointed at the aircrafts nose. If the radar was scanning the aircraft 'side on' you would find a rapid increase in its radar cross section. It is also interesting to note that at this stage of development, Over Horizon Radar can only detect stealth aircraft above 5000 ft MSL.
