I am a student of Aircraft Eng at Kingston uni.. my group project title is ''Cheap Long Haul Airline) .. now iv gotta come up wi an aircraft thats got a long range n is cheap to operate... i think A310 or DC - 10 would b good options... if u hav a better option or any thing that goes against these two... kindly do tell... plz ...

How long is long haul ?

The B777 is very long haul, and it has only 2 engines to burn fuel.

The A320 is cheap to operate and some variants can be configured to fly pretty long.
