Can anyone tell me, or tell me where I can find out, the number ( by type ) of U.S. Aircraft on station in Iraq ?

Specifically, I'm trying to find the number of Helicopters ( excluding the AH - 64 'Apache' and the AH - 10 'Cobra' ). I'm also interested in the number of Fixed Wing Cargo Aircraft ( C - 5's, C - 17's, etc.).

I would be using this information for a newspaper column I'm writing.

You can E - Mail me directly at 'TPorte4690@aol.com'.

Thank You.

Tom

First of all, is your last name porter, second of all where are you from. and Last but not least the US gov't will not release that kind of information because it is what you would call ' Operational Security'. The civillian world does not need to know that kind of information. whether or not you are trying to use the 'freedom of the press' amendment for this is just stupid. Everyone does not need to know everything about military operations around the world. That is for the military to know and the rest of the world not to worry about.
