If there was any real valid reason for them to return to service with an air force, they would, however there is obviously something that is more advanced and that can do its job much better in its place.

No that is actually incorrect it could never return to service because everything on it the prototypes the research the blueprints were all destroyed by the goverment so it could never return which is a very sad ending well atleast two aircraft escaped this merciless destruction.

No im talking about the tsr2 the lightning is obselete its only saving grace is its performance but the tsr2 is a completely different matter it can peform better than a tornado however the tornado first flew in the mid to late seventies the tsr2 first flew in late 1964 look at the links i posted above and they will completely explain the tsr2 could never fly again cause there are no blueprints or data left it was all destroyed along with all the prototypes apart from two but these were still gutted leaving only the airframes

This has to do with the topic at hand not the whatever you guys are talking about right now (but then again it may. i havnt read the entire conversation between you two.)

well im sure all these aircraft were retired for a reason. sure it would be great for them to return to the air for airshows and stuff but I really don't think that they would return to service for the USAF.

Im talking about the TSR2 it was (And maybe still is) the most advanced strike aircraft in the world it would have been the best strike aircraft for many years. IF it wasnt for the goverment and i will post a link to show you why it could never return to service also look on my site at tsr2 history. All will be explained. There isnt enough room here to explain the tsr2 project.

...Sublime on the towers of my skiey bowers
