Message Number 14Date Posted: 30 January 2009, 2:05:30 PM Alright here's a beta release of the new picture system ... GAC MyPics... there are probably some bugs to work out so poke around and give me some feedback. http://mypics.globalaircraft.org Right now you can only tag phrases ... you can't tag GAC members yet. Also, shared folders are folders that you own and that all GAC members can upload to (for instance, create a vintage aircraft folder and everyone can upload pictures to it). I'm trying to think of how to do that still; right now only GAC members can post to the forum, and I don't want membership to be mandatory to ask questions. I'll start thinking about it after MyPics is all set

Message Number 15Date Posted: 04 February 2009, 4:52:32 PM Sorry about the delay again, I just moved and didn't have the internet for the past week almost. Has anyone gotten a chance to play with GAC MyPics yet?

Message Number 16Date Posted: 04 February 2009, 5:07:13 PM Hey jetwiz, I took a look at it and it seems to be a promising feature! id like to suggest easier access from the website though. maybe say on the front page like say under the "Inside GAC" tab and then in the "New Technologys" subcatigory.

Message Number 17Date Posted: 11 March 2009, 8:49:10 PM Good to hear from you Jetwhiz, I kinda dropped off the map for a while, quite busy with multitude of things, but I'm back now.
I like the changes!
I have no problem with url address now, gacorg.com doesn't seem quite as official. I think the full globalaircraft.org says what the site is right away, but that's just my two cents.
I'll be around here often, so if you need any help from me let me know.

Message Number 19Date Posted: 14 March 2009, 8:54:16 PM Looks good, couldn't find any big issues, I uploaded a bunch of pics and tried all the functions out.
The only thing I noticed that you didn't have, was that the tag thing is kinda weird, it would be easier if you could just click on a point and that would be where the tag goes, but it's not really an issue of any great magnitude.
Oh, by the way, can you update the weekly contest?

Ah, "facebook-style" tagging? The only thing I don't like about that is you can't really choose your own size and shape of the tag. If there are a few small things in the picture you wind up with a bunch of huge, overlapping tags that lose their meaning. Maybe I'll implement both ... click for a default size, or click and drag to make your own size and shape? There we go, now both are supported ... you can either click to tag or click and drag to choose your own size and shape. Also, I'm thinking that all of the aircraft pages on the site need an entire redesign. Being limited to a strict layout and one page per aircraft definitely doesn't seem like a good thing to me.
